Not getting on swimmingly: Gillian McKeith and Shaun Ryder came to blows in the Bubble Bath Bailout challenge which saw them search for keys in a pool of freezing water
Feelings boiled over in the jungle today when a cold water task saw I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! contestants blow their tops.
Nutritionist Gillian McKeith screamed and complained as she took part in the Celebrity Chest Challenge, which involved retrieving keys from a freezing pool of water.
It was more than singer Shaun Ryder could take. 'You're a f****** irritating woman,' he complained as he endured the cold temperature himself.
In deep: The food nutritionist complained throughout the challenge about the freezing conditions, promoting Shaun to brand her a 'f****** irritating woman'
McKeith countered that it was 'disgusting' the way he spoke to people, prompting the Happy Mondays frontman to retort: 'You say the nasty things all the time ... your tone, everything. The way you speak to everyone.'
After the confrontation, Ryder admitted that his mouth had been 'horrible', but added: 'She's just rude and she's said some rude things to the girls. It's all right for her to say things, put people down or talk to them like s**t, which she does.
'Yet you give it to her and she can't take it.'
Row: McKeith retorted, telling Shaun it was 'disgusting' the way he spoke to her
Team work: The pair finally managed to release the community chest from the giant floating rubber duck in the pond, but returned to camp separately
Not a good start: Shaun later admitted that he had been foul mouthed, but insisted Gillian was also rude
The argument was the focus of chatter among the other contestants once Ryder and McKeith finally returned to the camp, separately, having won the chest.
On overhearing the TV nutritionist telling fellow campmates she contributed to the challenge, Ryder confronted her.
'Not only are you full of bulls**t, you're a lying bulls****r,' he said.
