'To the ice cream store!': Britney Spears treats son Jayden James to frozen yoghurt in California
We may be turning up the heating here in the UK, but you would never know winter had had hit sunny California.
Britney Spears made the most of the warm weather yesterday by enjoying a mother-and-me day out with youngest son Jayden James.
The pair visited Toys R Us in Calabasas before cooling off with some frozen yoghurt from Menchies ice cream store
Britney was dressed for the 24 degree Celsius weekend in a light shirt, denim shorts and sunglasses.
The only hint at the approaching Christmas season was a pair of warm knee-high boots with a furry lining.
Her four-year-old son was also dressed for summer in a checked short-sleeve shirt, khaki shorts and trainers. The fashionable tot added a striped beanie cap.
Miss Spears, 28, and Jayden James were surrounded by minders and bodyguards as they shopped for toys.
Mummy and me day: The singer and her four-year-old son started their day out at Toys R Us before picking up the frozen treat
There was no sign of the Circus singer's boyfriend Jason Trawick or her eldest son Sean Preston.
But the five-year-old is unlikely to have felt left out, as he and Britney spent time alone together the day before, visiting the same Menchies store in Calabasas on Saturday.
Despite seemingly daily trips to the ice cream store, Britney says that motherhood is one of the ways she keeps in shape.
She said in a recent interview: 'How do I keep slim? Having two boys definitely helps, and I love to dance. It's the best way to stay in shape.'
Lookalike: With his blonde hair and features, there's no mistaking who Jayden's mother is
The singer has been keeping busy in the studio recording a new album. She was spotted entering a recording studio on Friday and tweeted later, 'Just finished recording a monster with @TheDoctorLuke and MaxMartin. Get ready.... -Britney.'
Her agent Adam Leber added: 'Brit is recording a big big BIG new song on Friday with MaxMartin & TheDrLuke. I'm pretty sure it's a smash!'
But her latest effort almost was destroyed recently when a fire broke out in the album producer Rusko's home.
The record producer - real name Christopher Mercer – was able to recover the recordings in his home studio after his parked car exploded in his garage.
'Thank God I grabbed my hard drives,' the 25-year-old told followers on Twitter.
'We're all safe thank the lord.'
