One tip I have for those clients who want to change absolutley every little detail... explain that you are happy to change it all for an extra fee, and you'll even offer a lower hourly rate since you're not being asked to do anything creative, but remind them that they will end up with a site designed by an amateur to their personal, individual taste, rather than the site designed by a professional and designed to appeal to their whole customer base that they've already paid for.

Yes, that is an issue for concern. However, how is this relevant to gay rights? Despite the birth rate in the UK being around 2 (1.96 if I remember correctly) there are, sadly, plenty of children/babies in need of a good home. Recently, the law was changed to ensure homosexuals would be able to adopted children if they want. Lesbian couples could also ask for a donor, and gay couples for a surrogate.
We need to move beyond the idea that marriage is about a man and a women reproducing. Firstly, it isn't about that. Secondly, there is no reason same-sex couples can't raise just as many children as heterosexual couples.

It's probably possible, but you'd need to write the game yourself. Also, the mouse wouldn't be able to control the computer, so the game should be able to respecify mouse button actions and controls. It also needs to be optimized for the magic mouse. I'm not sure if the mouse differentiates from the top and bottom of the mouse for expose, but if it does, it will work flawlessly. Its just a matter of finding or writing a game that uses the magic mouse controls differently to control the game.

VW figured out that bigger sells better in the mid-size four door sedan market, so they bumped it up. They decontented a bit, and they also moved production to the US (http://www.autoblog.com/2011/01/09/2012-volkswagen-passat-chattanooga-vw/). I guess VW has decided to move from "affordable German luxury" back to "The people's car".
It's a shame, really, because they are removing the very qualities that would make me shop for a VW. I would prefer a Golf though. As I said above, I wonder if Golf will maintain its more European character, or if it too will be dumbed-down and upsized.

Reading through this thread, I was wondering how many people defending the iPad are actually aware of its inherent shortcomings for professional users , and have actually used programs like Photoshop .
The iPad was never meant to be used by professionals, it is not compatible with pro apps and devices on a basic level, like colour spaces, connectivity, file import/export, tethering, to name a few .
As it's been pointed out before, finger gestures are a crutch, not an enhancement, just like they were since the introduction of trackpads .
SJ called the iPad a post-PC computer - nothing could be further from the truth.
It might help to develop better input devices in the future, but right now Apple doesn't seem to be part of it, aiming their products at a retro oriented crowd which is merely asking for simplification, instead of progress.

The iPhone 4 is now 10 months old, that's getting a bit long in the tooth in the ever evolving tech world. :)
Agreed + the fact that this model was not released with the original phone; so it was going to suffer.
The real comparison would be the white iPhone 4 + the black iPhone 4 after April to iPhone 3GS when the iPhone4 came out.

So Samsung believed Apple was violating it's patents all this time but decided to do nothing about it. Now that they have been pushed they decide to act. Sounds to me they are trying to find whatever they can to bite back at Apple.

Sometimes when i am using my iphone, four icons randomly popup on the screen and they only go away when i restart the phone. What is this and how can i stop it from doing that. I have a JB iPhone 4 4.3.1

this might be OT, but the castle thing made me think of a few other points too. Apologies in advance.
1. MobileMe should NOT be rebranded. They can "add cloud castle level security" whatever, but keep it simple. MobileMe has great recognition (if a subpar rep, but see AppleTV) attached to it.
2. MobileMe should be worth the money. It is currently a ripoff when so much else is free. Apple should give a small wifi dropbox style sync for free among apple products (like dropbox) under the MobileMe name, and a wifi sync for iphone (free). This is not "entitlement", this is a basic functionality in 2011.
3. MobileMe+, for $7/month, should be wifi and 3G, increase the dropbox-style storage, give you direct web access to the storage, add better encryption, and OTA calendar and email syncing. It could also permit backing up Keychain, bookmarks, contacts and emails into one big "Rolodex" file, but just a thought.
4. With Lion, The App stores and software updates should all be joined into one store and become a separate app from itunes. I really, REALLY hope this is the way they are going. This is my number one request. When I want to update, I used to just do Software Update. Now I have to do Software Update, iTunes, and the App Store.
5. Time Machine should have an advanced mode (yes, I know thats not what its for) to be like SuperDuper and allow scheduled mirroring.

i'm a webdesigner and totally agree with psychometry.
the new textarea feature is the worst way to resolve one of safari worst layout problems. current textarea doesn't show the scrollbars everytime it's necessary and sometimes resizes horizontaly while you're typing, damaging some page layouts.
if the new feature allows users to resize both verticaly and horizontaly it's probably a bad sollution apple found to the scroll problem.
if you don't design pages you may not understand, but sometimes its necessary to fix a size to a textarea and other components (height and width), otherwise it will push other elements and images would look like a puzzle. fixing size is one of the solutions to make pages working in different browsers, once each one show form elements diffrently.
even if the resize feature doesn't push other elements, override them would be terrible as well. if you have links and other text fields for example, how would it behave if you use tab key to swich field in a form?
